Hyderabad CSIR Labs Host German University Leaders to Explore Research Collaborations

In a significant step toward strengthening Indo-German academic and research collaborations, CSIR-NGRI, CSIR-IICT, and CSIR-CCMB jointly hosted a high-profile delegation comprising twenty rectors, vice-chancellors, and registrars from leading German universities. The visit was organized by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

The meeting was chaired by Dr. Prakash Kumar, along with Dr. Srinivash Reddy, Director of CSIR-NGRI and CSIR-IICT, and Dr. Karthikeyan Vasudevan, Chief Scientist at CSIR-CCMB. Discussions focused on opportunities for collaboration in higher education, joint research initiatives, and student and faculty exchange programs.

Following the deliberations, the delegates toured the premier CSIR laboratories in Hyderabad. At CSIR-NGRI, they visited key research facilities including the Seismological Observatory, Thermal Geophysics Laboratory, and Controlled Source Seismology Division. The visits offered the delegates a first-hand look at cutting-edge research infrastructure and ongoing scientific work in geosciences and allied disciplines.

The event marks a promising beginning for deeper engagement between CSIR institutions and German academia, with shared goals of advancing scientific discovery and innovation.
