This study investigates how geological heterogeneity and groundwater dynamics influence earthquake activity in the Koyna-Warna region of western India. Using high-resolution satellite data and geospatial techniques, over 927 lineaments were extracted and analyzed for density and orientation. The results show a strong correlation between high lineament density, groundwater storage anomalies (from GRACE satellite data), and increased earthquake occurrences. These findings highlight the critical role of subsurface structures and hydrological changes in triggering reservoir-induced seismicity, offering insights for seismic hazard assessment in data scarce regions.
