CSIR - National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) team led by its Director Dr. Prakash Kumar has today signed an Memorandum of Understanding with Department of Mines and Geology, Andhra Pradesh in the gracious presence of Honourable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Sri Nara Chandrababau Naidu in the State Capital Amaravati. The MoU mainly aims at fostering the a strong cooperation to joint exploration and research projects in the State of Andhra Pradesh. The areas of interest expressed are critical mineral exploration and deployment of geophysical techniques for understanding the Earth's subsurface.

The DMG has shown keen interest in undertaking exploration for Lithium and Gallium in Cuddapah Basin. The team also met honourable Minister for Mines, Andhra Pradesh Sri Kollu Ravindra and invited him to visit CSIR-NGRI, Hyderabad to appraise him about the capabilities and to initiate several joint projects. They also met Sri Mukesh Kumar Meena, IAS, Principal Secretary of Mines, AP and Sri Praveen Kumar, IAS, CMD, APMDC to discuss further about the possible joint projects in the State of AP. The CSIR-NGRI team consisted Director Dr. Prakash Kumar, Dr. M. J. Nandan, Chief Scientist Head PME, Dr. Bulusu Sreenivas, Chief Scientist, Dr. K. Rama Mohan, Scientist-F and Mr. G. Vamsi Krishna, Senior Technical Officer.
