Research Area

Abhey Ram Bansal received his M. Tech. (Applied Geophysics) from Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra in 1994 and Ph.D. (Geophysics) from Osmania University, Hyderabad in 2001. He joined National Geophysical Research Institute, Hyderabad in 1996 and presently working as senior scientist at same institute. He is involved in many research topics like seismic hazard studies, satellite gravity, Isostatic compensation of submarine features, signal processing, fractals approach for interpreting gravity and magnetic data. He is a recipient of prestigious National Mineral Award -2005, Government of India and Krishnan Gold Medal - 2008, Indian Geophysical Union. He is also a receipt of BOYSCAST Fellowship -2001, Department of Science and Technology, Govt. India; UKIERI Research Fellowship – 2007, British Council of India, New Delhi and JSPS invitation Fellowship-2010. He is having working experience at many foreign institutes: University of Leeds, U. K.; University of Edinburgh, U. K.; Leibniz Institute for Applied Geophysics, Germany and Institute of Statistical Mathematics, Tachikawa, Japan and the Georgia Institute of technology. He is an active reviewer of almost all high impact factor journals in Geophysics.
